My injuries

In my previous post, I wrote about volleyball, but that’s not the only sport I play. It is the one I’m focused on the most and everything, but it’s good to take my mind off of it for some time with other sports too, like football, basketball or anything else. And of course, with playing sports, there will always be at least some injuries. I have to say I was injured quite a lot of times, some of those injuries happened in the worst possible moments in my career, but I always say things happen for a reason, so that had to be good for something.

In all of my years playing sports, I can say I’ve been injured from head to toes. ๐Ÿ˜€ I had a broken nose, dislocated finger, sprained my ankle twice, broken bone on my right hand, three broken bones on my foot, so yeah, quite a lot. ๐Ÿ˜€ Now that I think of it, I actually haven’t had a lot of volleyball related injuries, the majority of them happened while playing other sports. But the injuries that did happen while playing volleyball, I could say were crucial for how my career turned out.

After almost all of my injuries I was able to come back without a problem, but there was one in particular, which I can’t stop wondering about what might have happened without it. It was that broken bone on my hand. It happened almost at the end of the season, I was sidelined for about a month, when I came back, we only had a few practices left and went on a break between two seasons. The next time I came to practice, I felt like I don’t even know how to play volleyball anymore. It seem like I just started playing it, not that it was my fourth year playing. Before the injury I was in a really good form, even the captain of our team, but afterwards, I never fully returned to that level. That was also one of the reasons why I stopped practicing regularly.

At the moment, I feel like I am slowly getting back to that level before the injury, but now as I’m getting older, there’s a lot of younger, better players coming through. But I still feel like there are a few years of good volleyball left in me. ๐Ÿ™‚
