After such a long while of not writing and posting anything on here, I decided to get back into it, just explain some things that have happened since the last time you heard from me, take a look into the future a little bit with me and just have some fun writing again. I have missed this, not going to lie, but unfortunately just how the life has been going for me in the last year, it was difficult to find the right topic to write about that would seem interesting enough. This post will be more of an insight into my life, and if you don’t know me yet, you will probably get to find out a few things about me throughout it. 🙂
I started this blog as more of a travel kind of a blog, presenting my travel stories and to take you on those trips with me, to see what you can do in a certain city/town, and maybe give you some ideas for your own trips. At first that went rather well, as I had quite a bit of content with the trips I went on before starting this blog and as it progressed, new trips happened and I wrote about those as well. But unfortunately, we all know what happened in 2020, all of my travel plans went out the window, the same as for everyone else of course. On one hand, things slowed down, and I kind of enjoyed that for a little bit, but I was missing planning new trips and everything connected to that. I did pick up gaming during that time as well, which we will come back to in a minute as well.
Things with my work at the time were also quite tense, let’s not go into all the details of it, but not being able to plan things even on the day itself was just terrible. Not only finding the time for travelling was holding me back, but also the financial side of things had to be considered. Since I put quite a large amount of money into my gaming/sim racing/streaming setup, it meant that I couldn’t really afford any kind of a longer trip abroad. I had a plan to go to the USA later on this year in 2023, but with things changing towards the last part of the previous year, changing jobs and all that, I unfortunately had to make the call and cancel that plan, just due to the financial strain that would put on my life, so to speak.
I have mentioned changing jobs last year as well. I knew that I would not be making nearly as much money in this new job as I used to before, but also, I wouldn’t be spending nearly as much time at work, or being sort of “on call” all the time. But at the time, it was all about getting my life in order and have a work schedule that I could plan things around and not be worried that I will have to cancel any plans I will have made. At first, all of it was a bit unusual to me, being used to waiting for a call to come in to work at every possible moment, but once I got through that, I have been able to relax a bit more and focus on other things in my life as well.
As you may know, sports are a big part of my life, and with everything going on back then, I wasn’t able to play them as much as I used to or would have liked to. There were no tournaments that I would be going to, our volleyball league wasn’t happening, but thankfully things started fully going back to normal last year, so all of these things started coming back as well. Finally had some “competitive” games to look forward to, as well as just having fun around it all and it made life much better and more fun. Playing sports with all the same people week in and week out is funned all, but playing against others, when every single game is a story in on itself in a way, makes things a lot more interesting.
Let’s now focus our attention to the rest of this year, and the future in general, since we’ve gone over the context of the things I will be mentioning from here on out. Might as well begin with travelling, since that was my main focus to start this post and the blog in general with. It has been over 3 years now since I last went on a trip abroad, I have done a few trips around the country where I live, but that’s not the same, at least not in my eyes. With the way things are going on these days however, this year looks like all of this could change again. There are many plans laid out in front of me, figuratively speaking, that I’m actually having a bit of a difficult time deciding what exactly I’m going to do. Trips to Germany, England, and even Paris are all on the table at the moment, what I eventually end up deciding is still up for debate, so definitely stay tuned for posts about that in the future, what ever I decide.
Another thing that I have been dedicating a lot of time to in the last few months has been gaming and streaming, in which I was finally able to reach the goal that I was working towards for quite some time, and now things will change quite a bit in that regard. Up until a few days ago, at the time of writing this, streaming was more of a “yeah, I’m up for it, so I’ll stream” kind of a thing, but now, if I want to keep going down the path I’ve set on, I need to get out of that mindset and set a proper streaming schedule for myself and stick to it! I know I might not feel like streaming every single time I will plan to, but I will have to do it regardless, if I want to keep that side of my life growing and eventually make some money off of it. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy streaming and all that, just sometimes you have days where you don’t really feel up to doing anything, but hopefully there won’t be many days like this in the future. So if you want to follow my journey, feel free to drop me a follow on Twitch!
By the looks of things at the moment, it is going to be a very interesting rest of the year 2023. So far, it has already been much better than 2022, and I’m hoping it can even get better here on out. I know I used to write a post about looking back on a year that has just passed at the beginning of the next one, but this year with everything going on, I wasn’t in the right state of mind to be able to put my thoughts together and write them down like this. But, as I’ve said, things are now looking a lot brighter, so expect some more content coming onto my blog in the upcoming weeks and months! 🙂
